Urgent Request for Shifting of Gymnasium Equipment
Letter was given to the Principal, Government T.D. Medical College, Alappuzha, highlighting the urgent need to shift the gymnasium equipment before the commencement of PWD retrofitting works. The administration has been requested to make the necessary arrangements at the earliest to prevent damage to the equipment and ensure continued access to the gymnasium facilities.
Improving Student Accommodation and Learning Facilities
A representation was submitted to the Principal highlighting the need to improve students’ accommodation facilities and ensure a better academic environment. The Union requested necessary measures to address the existing concerns and provide adequate facilities for students.
Installation and Replenishment of Pad Vending Machine in the New Reading Room
The pad vending machine was relocated to the new reading room, made operational, and stocked with necessary sanitary pads.
Title Request for Fencing and Road Concreting at Ladies’ Hostel
Letter was submitted to the Warden of LH 2 highlighting the need for fencing around the Ladies’ Hostel and concreting of the road leading to the hostel.
Improvement of the PG Quarters Road
A representation was submitted to the authorities regarding the poor condition of the road leading to the PG Quarters. Following the representation, necessary measures were taken, and the road repair and maintenance works were completed.
Urgent Action for Completion of LH 1 Construction Works
Letter was given to the Assistant Engineer, PWD pointing out how the construction works of LH 1 are still not completed despite numerous requests being submitted. It has been asked to take necessary measures at the earliest expedite the process.
Request for Repair of Washroom Near the Physiology Department
Letter was submitted to the PTA asking to repair the washroom next to the Physiology department as the bathroom in the old reading room cannot be used by students when it is converted to the PTA office.
Submission for Conducting Women’s Throwball Zonal and Inter-Zonal Tournaments
Letter was sent to the sports council Kerala University Of Health Science for conducting Women's Throwball competition in zonal and inter- zonal Tournaments
Request for Action Against Stray Dog Menace in Campus and Hospital Premises
A letter was submitted to the President of Ambalappuzha North Grama Panchayat regarding the increasing stray dog menace in the college campus and hospital premises. The issue was discussed in the presence of Veterinary Doctor Dr. Jil, and necessary measures for addressing the problem were requested. The Panchayat authorities were also requested to take appropriate action in accordance with the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Programme and the relevant Supreme Court directives.
Request for Road Repair and Maintenance in Campus and Hospital Premises
Letter was given to The Assistant Engineer, PWD and The Principal regarding the state of the roads both in the campus and in the hospital premises. Urgent intervention in the same has been requested.
Regarding E-Grantz Hostel Fee and EWS Tuition Fee
A representation was submitted to the Principal regarding the early release of the E-grantz hostel fee for SC/ST and OBC students and the pending tuition fee for EWS students. The Principal assured us that the matter would be addressed promptly
Examination concerns raised with KUHS
•Letter was sent to Controller of Examinations, KUHS regarding the concerns faced by final year MBBS students in their General Surgery Paper I examination. •Letter was sent to Controller of Examinations, KUHS regarding the concerns faced by final year MBBS students in their General Surgery Paper II examination. •Letter was sent to the Controller of Examination, KUHS regarding the concerns faced by final year students in their Obstetrics and Gynaecology examination •Letter was sent to the Controller of Examinations, KUHS raising the concerns faced by final year students in their Paediatrics and Neonatalogy examination • Letter was sent to the Controller of examination KUHS raising the concerns faced by First Year students in their Anatomy Paper 1 examination • Letter was sent to Controller of Examinations, KUHS regarding the concerns faced by first year students in their PHYSIOLOGY PAPER I examination. • Letter was submitted to the Controller of examination, KUHS regarding the difficulties faced by Post Graduate students in their examinations, highlighting the marked change in question structure and topic distribution.
Reinstatement of University Men’s Kho Kho and Badminton Teams
Letters were submitted to the Sports Council, KUHS, requesting the reinstatement of the University Men’s Kho Kho and Men’s Badminton teams.
Addressing the Poor Condition of the Men’s Toilets at the New Anatomy Lecture Hall
The College Union submitted a letter to the Principal requesting immediate action to address the poor condition of the men’s toilets in the New Anatomy Lecture Hall and to ensure proper hygiene and basic facilities.
Request Submitted to the Honourable Minister of Health for Addressing Students’ Basic Needs
College union has submitted a letter directly to the Honourable Minister of Health, Family and Welfare addressing the basic needs raised by the students including:- • A walkover across the NH 66 for the safety of the students • Request for refund of the illegally issued fees for the students of 2019, 2020 and 2021 batches •Allotment of adequate SR seats according to PG seats and increment of PG Stipend • A new hostel complex for both male and female MBBS students • The renovation of campus amenities including toilet facilities and campus road repair • Need for a centralised RO water plant • Speeding up of the works of an inner road connecting hospital and college campus
Extension request for MD/MS Thesis submission
Letter was submitted to The Dean of Student Affairs, KUHS regarding the extension of last date for thesis submission without fine for the MD/MS batch.
Request for Improvement of Basic Facilities in the Examination Hall
The College Union submitted a letter to the Principal requesting the repair of the fans and the renovation of the toilets in the Examination Hall to ensure adequate basic facilities for students.
Follow up on the pending renovation of MH-1
Letter was given to the Assistant Engineer, PWD about the renovation of MH-1. Despite the issuing of an order, the repair works have not yet started. This issue was directly brought to the attention and demand for speeding up of further formalities so that the renovation works begin soon has been made.
Request for repair and cleaning of reading room toilets
The College Union has submitted a request to the Principal for the repair, proper maintenance, and cleaning of the toilets in the Reading Room.
Wi-Fi Facilty at study hall
Wi-Fi facilities have been arranged in the new study hall to ensure uninterrupted internet access for students
Request for road and streetlight improvements
Letter was given to the Superintendent and the Principal pointing out the condition of the roads and the lack of streetlights in the hospital premises. They have assured that necessary measures have been taken and follow up will be done as it is a matter of priority for both UG and PG students.
